Anaesthetists That Care
Our team consists of 10 full-time associates, that combined have more than 100 years’ experience in specialist anaesthesia, pain management and intensive care. All associates are registered with the Health Professions Council of South Africa and much of our time is spent ensuring that we familiarise and educate ourselves about all new aspects of anaesthetic care by means of attending regular workshops and congresses.
Our administrative offices are located at the Gariep Mediclinic complex. Associates also provide services at the Lenmed Royal Hospital & Heart Centre and Narko Kimberley Day Theatre.

CLINICAL AWARENESS
Our Services
Specialist anaesthetic care includes cardio-thoracic, dental, ear-, nose- and throat, eye, general, gynaecological, obstetrics, orthopaedic, paediatric, plastic, neuro- and urology surgery. Furthermore, we also provide acute and chronic intensive care along with peri- and post-operative pain management.
General Anaesthesia
General anaesthesia is a state of controlled unconsciousness. During a general anaesthetic, medications are used to send you to sleep, so you’re unaware of surgery and don’t move or feel pain while it’s carried out.
Regional Anaesthesia
Regional anaesthesia is the use of local anaesthetics to block sensations of pain from a large area of the body. Regional anaesthesia allows a procedure to be done on a region of the body without your being unconscious.
Conscious Sedation
Conscious sedation is a combination of medicines to help you relax and to block pain during a medical procedure. Conscious sedation lets you recover quickly and return to your everyday activities soon after your procedure.
